Centre Crest Auxiliary
The Centre Crest Auxiliary has been a part of the Centre Crest community since 1963. The Auxiliary began in the summer of 1963 when Pearl Stanton, then administrator of Centre Crest, asked the Bellefonte Council of Church Women to provide volunteers to serve at the reception desk on Sunday afternoons. The ladies then asked if there were other tasks for volunteers to perform. The result was a meeting of representatives of 25 civic and church organizations who decided to form the Auxiliary. The organization continues their dedication to provide quality services and care to our residents.

The Auxiliary is funded through membership in the Centre County United Way. They also conduct fundraisers and receive memorial gifts to purchase items to benefit the needs of our nursing facility. They provide life enrichment programs to our residents. Highlights of Auxiliary accomplishments include being awarded a $5,000 grant to purchase 21 new wheelchairs, completed three garden areas for the enjoyment of the residents, provision of beauty shop supplies which allows the women to receive this service at no cost, sustains the resident ceramics program, provides two entertainments monthly, free postage stamps for residents, provided a digital scale for resident weight program, purchased a resident lift and formed the comfort and love group to support residents and their families in the final stages of life.

The Centre Crest Auxiliary is made up of volunteer workers who provide needed service for the residents. We continue to recruit individuals to join our Auxiliary. We are looking for men and women who can contribute a few hours each month by volunteering their time to enhance the quality of our residents’ lives. Please consider joining today.
