The County of Centre will hold a Final Public Hearing on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm prevailing time in Room 146 of the Willowbank Bldg, 420 Holmes St, Bellefonte, PA to receive public comment on the County’s intention to apply to the PA Dept of Community & Economic Development for approximately $298,291 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the FFY 2014 Program.
Proposed project activities must meet one or more of three national objectives: benefit low- and moderate-income persons; prevention or elimination of slums or blight; and/or alleviation of immediate threats to the health and safety of the community. Centre County Commissioners are required to and will commit not less than 70% of the total funds to projects which principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The First Public Hearing was held May 22, 2014. Projects under consideration to receive FFY 2014 CDBG Funds are: Water Main replacement on East Main Street in the Village of Rebersburg, Miles Twp, ($115,600); Rehabilitation of Treatment Tanks at the Village of Julian, Huston Twp. Wastewater Treatment Plant, ($129,000). Approximately $53,691 will be allocated to the County for Grant Administrative purposes.
