Notice is hereby given that Centre County Government and Bellefonte Borough will hold a combined remote Public Hearing on May 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive comments on both the Ffy 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs AND the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) CDBG-CV Funds of both Centre County and Bellefonte Borough. Centre County is expected to receive an allocation of $351,000, of Ffy 2020 CDBG funds. Bellefonte Borough anticipates the receipt of $115,000. Centre County anticipates an initial allocation of $159,506 of CDBG-CV funds and Bellefonte Borough expects $66,073 in CDBG-CV funds. The CV funds are specifically intended to prepare for, prevent and respond to the impacts of the Pandemic. FY2020 CDBG funds may also be allocated for this purpose. The intent of the virtual public hearing is to obtain the views of citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties on Pandemic-related community development needs and the development of activities to be undertaken to address these needs.

Written proposals and comments may be submitted to the Centre County Planning and Community Development Office, 420 Holmes St, Bellefonte PA, by May 21, 2020.
Please note Centre County is proposing an amendment to its Community Development Block Grant Citizen Participation Plan (Plan). This Plan outlines actions taken to involve citizens in the community development planning process. The proposed amendments involve temporary provisions to be implemented to address the COVID-19 pandemic (Pandemic). These include reducing the public comment period to 5 days and holding virtual public meetings and hearings.
