[ARCHIVED] Centre County Moves to the Green Phase on May 29th

Centre County Green

On May 26, Governor Wolf announced his decision to move Centre County to the green phase of re-opening effective this Friday, May 29, 2020. The Centre County Commissioners voted to move ahead and will now be the 18th county to move to green.

The Board of Commissioners will assess our current operational protocols at Thursday’s Board of Commissioners meeting taking into consideration the ‘green phase’ guidance and requirements provided by the Governor’s Office.

In general, going green provides more latitude for businesses to operate, but it does not signal a return to pre-pandemic operations. It will require a continuing commitment to follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In particular, we will need to redouble our efforts regarding universal masking, physical distancing, and personal hygiene practices.

For the immediate future, please continue to follow the guidance provided to you on Friday, May 8th included below. It is anticipated that these protocols will remain mostly intact. Employees in non-Court supervised offices who are working remotely, furloughed, or on COVID-19 leave status will not be expected to return to their offices en masse on Monday. Return to office will be based on work necessity and phased in over a period of time. For Court-supervised offices, the President Judge will provide separate direction about return to office status. In addition, the Commissioners will consider an extension of furloughs on Thursday and Administrator Margaret Gray will communicate any changes to Department Heads following the Board of Commissioners meeting.

Thank you for your continued efforts as we work our way through all of these changes.
