[ARCHIVED] John J. Franek, Jr. named as County Administrator and Chief Clerk

The Centre County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that John J. Franek, Jr. has been offered and has accepted the position of County Administrator & Chief Clerk for Centre County Government, effective Monday, May 9, 2022.

Mr. Franek brings extensive local and county government experience to the role of Administrator. The Board will take official action at its public meetings on Thursday, April 14, 2022, to approve Mr. Franek’s appointment.

 

“I am truly humbled by the opportunity to serve as the next Administrator of Centre County,” said Mr. Franek. “I am honored to continue working with the Commissioners and the entire County team in serving our community.”

 

Mr. Franek currently serves as the Deputy Administrator for Centre County Government. Prior to joining Centre County Government, he served as the Code Services Manager for the Centre Region Council of Governments (COG). Before working with COG, Mr. Franek worked for fourteen years with College Township in a variety of capacities including as their Management Analyst with responsibilities spanning across a wide variety of business functions and projects to promote the efficient and effective delivery of services to Township residents.

 

“The Commissioners are thrilled to have John step into the role of Administrator and know he will hit the ground running. We have worked closely with him during the past year and have seen firsthand his tremendous dedication to Centre County Government”, said Chairman Michael Pipe, on behalf of the Board of Commissioners. “The Board again wants to thank and appreciate the six years of service Margaret Gray provided the residents of Centre County as Administrator. She has provided outstanding leadership to the County working with the Commissioners, elected officials, staff, and community to advance our many programs and services.”

 

Mr. Franek is a resident of Philipsburg Borough and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the Upper Iowa University.
