[ARCHIVED] Vacant Planning Commission Appointment


The Centre County Planning Commission is seeking a representative from the Upper Bald Eagle Valley Planning Region. The Upper Bald Eagle Valley includes the townships of Huston, Taylor, Union and Worth, and the boroughs of Port Matilda and Unionville.


  • Shall be a resident of a municipality in the Upper Bald Eagle Valley Region.
  • Cannot be an elected official however, may be currently serving on a municipal planning commission or municipal authority, or otherwise considered a citizen of the planning region.
  • Must be willing to complete and submit an application to the Centre County Board of Commissioners for consideration to be appointed to the Planning Commission.

Planning Commission Duties


The Centre County Planning Commission, through the comprehensive planning process, makes recommendations and decisions to maintain and enhance the high quality of life for all residents, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, and other laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the County of Centre.  The Planning Commission is comprised of citizens and/or elected officials appointed to represent the regions of the County. Members assist staff in the review and approval of subdivision and land development activity in 25 of the 35 municipal governments throughout the County. More details are found here.
