 Vacant Commission Appointment

 The Centre County Planning Commission is seeking a member.

Qualifications 

  • Shall be a resident of Centre County.
  • Cannot be an elected official for the vacancy being advertised. However, interested individuals may be appointed to a municipal planning commission, a municipal authority, or a similar group overseen by municipal government.  
  • Must be willing to complete and submit an application to the Centre County Board of Commissioners for consideration to be appointed to the Planning Commission. 

Planning Commission Duties

The Centre County Planning Commission, through the comprehensive planning process, makes recommendations and decisions to maintain and enhance the high quality of life for all residents, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, and other laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the County of Centre.  The Planning Commission is comprised of citizens and/or elected officials appointed to represent the regions of the County. Members assist staff in the review and approval of subdivision and land development activity in 25 of the 35 municipal governments throughout the County. More details are found here.
