The County of Centre will hold a Final Public Hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 9:30am prevailing time in Room 146 of the Willowbank Bldg, 420 Holmes St, Bellefonte, PA
...to receive comment on the County’s intention to apply to the PA Dept of Community & Economic Development for approximately $291,430 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the FFY 2013 Program.
Proposed project activities must meet one or more of three national objectives: benefit low- and moderate-income persons; prevention or elimination of slums or blight; and/or alleviation of immediate threats to the health and safety of the community. Centre County Commissioners are required to and will commit not less than 70% of the total funds to projects which principally benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The First Public Hearing was held May 22, 2013. Projects under consideration and their funding amounts to receive FFY 2013 CDBG Funds are: Water Main replacement in the Village of Woodward, Haines Twp, ($157,000); Purchase of Water Meters and related Items, Village of Madisonburg, Miles Twp., ($41,000). Water System Master Meter in Port Matilda Borough, ($40,973). Approximately $52,457 will be allocated to the County for Grant Administrative purposes.
